Zeng Yang's "Amitabha’s Infinite World" series began fourteen years ago, originating from his insight into the Mahayana Buddhist’s Pure Land teachings and serving as the culmination of his personal ideological value system.

"Amitabha Buddha" is a Sanskrit term that literally means "immeasurable enlightenment." It is also a mantra that can open a door.

The Infinite World, also known as the Pure Land, originates from Pure Land sutras such as the "Infinite Sutra" and is a Buddha's land that transcends the six realms and the ten Dharma realms. The sutras describe this world as consisting of seven treasures, with the ground made of gold. The beings in this land have infinite lifespans and eventually attain enlightenment through their practice.That is why Zeng Yang's works use gold as the material, as in Buddhism, gold symbolizes the eternal and unchanging.

Zeng Yang's works employ a unique technique of applying pure gold leaf to silk or lacquer and then engraving it with an iron stylus. The difficulty of this technique lies in the fact that the gold leaf is extremely thin and cannot be modified once applied. The entire work must be completed in one stroke, regardless of the complexity of the composition. If an error occurs, it cannot be corrected or covered up. This unique technique gives the artwork a dynamic and unrepeatable personal style.

In works involving Buddha image painting, most of them cannot be separated from imitations of ancient masters. However, Zeng Yang hopes to evoke the viewer's yearning for the Western Pure Land through breakthroughs in technique and materials, and sow the seeds of goodness within the beautiful images. All wonderful realms are not unreachable; the Dharma is the mind's method. With a change of thought, one can attain another realm.
