Rainy days impart a different rhythm to the otherwise familiar city streetscapes. Pedestrians holding umbrellas cross the crosswalks, each moving toward their own destination; though seemingly passing each other by, they collectively compose the flowing scenery of urban life. Rainwater blends the reflections, light, and colors on the ground, infusing the daily scene with poetry and emotion.
In the frame, I intentionally introduced several white human figures as symbols of the "extraordinary." Resembling light, memory, hope, and anticipation, they weave through the crowd, intertwining and coexisting with real people. Rather than concrete individuals, these white silhouettes are projections of inner emotions, symbolizing that within ordinary life, everyone still harbors imagination and pursuits for the future.
Through the atmosphere of a rainy day, I hope to present the vitality of the city amidst the flow of people. By contrasting the real with the illusory, the ordinary with the extraordinary, the artwork guides viewers to contemplate: in our bustling lives, can we still perceive those fleeting yet ever-present hopes and expectations that accompany us? Rain is not merely weather; it serves as a medium that prompts us to pause, re-experience life, and reconnect with our inner selves.
