My travels have also served as an important source of inspiration for a series of my paintings. While traveling, my days are often filled with exhibitions and meetings. In the evenings, after dinner with friends or colleagues, I return to my hotel, open my laptop, and prepare for the following day. Amid exhaustion and jet lag, I gradually began to find inspiration in these quiet moments.
There are many places in this world that sell physical food, but I believe there are far fewer that provide nourishment for the mind and soul. The large-scale painting Light Cooking depicts the preparation of a kind of “immaterial food”—spiritual nourishment that feeds the human soul.
These paintings are not literal representations of what my eyes see, but rather psychological landscapes that express what my soul feels.
