Born in Kyoto in 1966. Completed the doctoral course in Japanese-style painting (Nihonga) at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2000. Has received awards on multiple occasions at the Inten (Exhibition of the Japan Art Institute). In 2022 published the solo art book Higisō (AKAAKA Art Publishing; Chinese edition released by Sichuan Fine Arts Publishing House in 2024). In 2024 was commissioned to paint a portrait commemorating the wedding of a prince of the Brunei royal family. Currently a dōjin (full member) of the Japan Art Institute, Specially Appointed Professor at Joshibi University of Art and Design (Japan), and Specially Appointed Professor at the School of International Art, Central Academy of Fine Arts (Beijing).
