Dot – City Lights is Kim Sehan’s signature series, reimagining urban nightscapes through the accumulation of countless dots. After natural daylight fades, the illuminated windows of buildings, digital billboards, and the headlights of passing cars become a vibrant landscape of light. Through meticulously placed dots, Kim captures the energy, rhythm, and vitality of the contemporary city.
Each work is created exclusively with a No. 3 brush and acrylic paints in primary colors. Viewed up close, the paintings reveal intricate constellations of individual dots; from a distance, they coalesce into sweeping panoramic cityscapes. Every dot symbolizes an individual living within the city, and together they form a unified landscape, expressing themes of coexistence, connection, and community. Beneath the brilliance of the urban skyline, the works gently illuminate the emotions and everyday lives of contemporary people with warmth and quiet empathy.
