Abstract Composition, a mixed media canvas work from 1973 by pioneer master Cheong Soo Pieng. Cheong synthesises elements of European abstraction — Constructivist geometry and Bauhaus spatial ordering — with distinctly Chinese sensibilities rooted in delicate ink-wash aesthetic and the balance of presence and void.
