I have been developing “On the Edge of Utopia,” a series set in deep forests—an attempt to reach a personal utopia I still cannot fully arrive at. In “vacation Ⅰ,” I paint flowers for the first time, an element I once avoided for fear their fleeting beauty would disrupt the forest’s long, steady time. By introducing this “temporary life,” I sought to heighten the contrast between the forest’s unwavering stillness and flowers that shine only for a moment, revealing a fresh pulse of life within calm.
