“Prosperous Harvest” is one of Chiang Po HONG’s recent works created with pigments, continuing his long-standing focus on the relationship between land and nature. The composition centers on a vast golden rice field, using a low viewpoint and horizontal expansion to guide the viewer’s gaze toward distant mountains and sky, creating a tranquil and expansive sense of space. Although no human figures are depicted, the cultivated landscape suggests the presence of human labor and coexistence with nature, imbuing the scene with subtle cultural meaning.
In terms of medium, the work is executed in pigments on silk, featuring delicate, layered pigments that give the golden rice a soft luminosity. The artist employs simplified yet rhythmic brushwork to render the texture of the fields, balancing between realism and decorative qualities, and forming a visually harmonious and rhythmic composition.
