DAI Bih-In graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of Art (now National Taiwan University of Arts). In 1975, he moved to Spain, and in 1978 pursued further studies at the Escuela Internacional de Pintura Mural in Barcelona, as well as at the Centro Internazionale Studi Insegnamento del Mosaico in Ravenna, Italy, where he developed a solid foundation in mural painting and mosaic techniques.
Since the late 1970s, Dai has been actively exhibiting in Spain, holding solo exhibitions in cities including Barcelona, Madrid, Figueres, Málaga, and Zaragoza. He has participated multiple times in the ARCO Art Fair in Madrid and Art Basel in Switzerland, and was selected for the Premio Internacional de Dibujo Joan Miró, marking an early recognition of his artistic achievement.
From the 2000s onward, Dai has continued to exhibit in both Taiwan and internationally, maintaining a long-term collaboration with Apollo Art Gallery. He has participated in major art fairs such as Art Taipei, Art Taichung, and Art Tainan. His artistic practice has also developed around paper as a central medium, leading to publications including Dialogue Between Paper and Dai Bih-In and Taiwan Paper: Dai Bih-In.
Living and working between Spain and Taiwan, Dai Bih-In’s career reflects sustained engagement with material, painting, and exhibition contexts across different cultural landscapes.
